Benny Hinn Ambushed at $99 Christian Conference by YouTuber Tyler Oliveira
Popular YouTube creator Tyler Oliveira alleges that he and his cameraman were physically assaulted after he confronted televangelist Benny Hinn on stage during a recent Spirit Life Conference in Aslip, Illinois. Oliveira, who has millions of subscribers, claims that when he exposed Hinn as a fraud, the reaction was swift and violent.
In a video he posted online under a title suggesting the exposure of corrupt churches, Oliveira recounts how he visited several prominent megachurches, including well-known ministries in Texas and Florida. In his commentary, he criticizes various pastors for promoting a form of the prosperity gospel that teaches believers they are entitled to health and wealth if they give generously.
Oliveira explains that after purchasing his $99 ticket for the conference, he traveled to Chicago with the intention of encountering Benny Hinn, whom he warned would soon “face judgment.” As Hinn finished a concluding prayer on stage, Oliveira rushed forward, boldly declaring, “Benny Hinn is a false prophet, fake healer, and snake oil salesman.”
The sudden interruption visibly startled Hinn, who, reportedly dealing with a long-term heart condition, could be heard gasping as security personnel quickly intervened by dragging Oliveira off stage and restraining him.
The video continues to show Oliveira being escorted out of the venue while he continues to denounce Hinn, asserting that the televangelist was misusing the Word of God for profit. Oliveira also describes how both he and his cameraman were subjected to a harsh physical assault. He recounts an experience in which he was tied up, body-slammed, and struck, while his cameraman—identified as Pasha—was similarly attacked, even having his camera seized and attempts being made to erase the recorded footage.
It is noteworthy that Benny Hinn has publicly renounced the prosperity gospel several years ago. He has openly expressed regret over promoting financial theatrics during his ministry and has stated that he no longer supports the idea of placing a monetary value on spiritual matters. Hinn has acknowledged that his earlier approach was a departure from his current biblical understanding and mentioned that the pressures of ministry led him to make decisions he now regrets.
The incident has stirred significant online attention, with Oliveira’s video accumulating millions of views in a short time span. Officials at the hosting church have yet to provide further comment on the altercation.
