St. Maria Goretti is honored as one of the youngest canonized saints in the Church. At just eleven years old, she courageously defended her purity against an attacker who ultimately took her life. In an extraordinary act of forgiveness, she absolved the man responsible, prompting a miraculous change in his heart after her death. Her legacy of purity and mercy is commemorated annually on July 6.
