PARIS (AP) — In an impressive display at this year’s junior Roland-Garros, 17‑year‑old Lilli Tagger of Austria clinched the girls’ singles title without dropping a set. Making her debut on the junior stage at the French Open, Tagger put on a masterclass performance in the final.

She defeated Britain’s eighth‑seed Hannah Klugman in straight sets, prevailing by scores of 6–2 and 6–0 on Saturday. Throughout the match, Tagger successfully saved all five break points against her and produced 19 winners, underlining her composure and precision on the court.

This victory marks a historic milestone for Austrian tennis, as Tagger becomes the first player from her country to win a junior singles title at the French Open. Previously, her best showing in a major tournament was reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open earlier this year.
