Lilli Tagger Claims French Open Girls Championship

Austria’s Lilli Tagger Clinches the French Open Girls’ Title

In a stunning display of talent and composure, 17‐year‐old Lilli Tagger from Austria emerged as the champion in the girls’ singles event at the French Open. Making her junior debut at Roland-Garros, she never dropped a set throughout the tournament.

In the final match, Tagger dominated Britain’s eighth‐seeded Hannah Klugman with a decisive 6–2, 6–0 victory. She maintained her momentum by converting every one of the five break points she faced and recorded 19 winners against her opponent.

This win marks a historic milestone for Austria, as Tagger becomes the first Austrian junior to capture a singles title at the French Open. Prior to this achievement, her best run in a major had been a quarterfinal appearance at the Australian Open earlier this year.
