In the viral clip, Lockett explains that he chose to wait for marriage to begin his sexual life, staying true to his Christian beliefs despite societal pressures.
Bryant, through his social media account, highlighted Lockett’s commitment as a powerful example. He explained that the decision to delay intimacy stands as a model for the African-American community and admitted that he wished he had possessed the same strength.
“I think this needs to be viral because this is the greatest example for the black community. I wish I had strength like Tyler Lockett.”
During a podcast interview, Lockett detailed the personal journey behind his choice:
“I waited until marriage. I wanted to honor God, and that’s what I believed was right. People around me knew, but I never made a big deal out of it. It wasn’t easy, but I never felt like I was missing out. I just wanted to do it my way.”
